Dale Varsho
Field Manager
Dale Varsho has led the Express on the field since its inaugural season in 2005 and is entering his second season as the Director of Operations.
Varsho held many coaching positions prior to his tenure with the Express, most recently having been the head coach and Director of Facilities at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. from 1999-2001. Under Varsho, the V-Hawks went 76-50, including a former school record of 32 wins in the 2000 season.
Dale lives in Marshfield, WI with his wife Jennifer and their three children: Jake, Averie and Christian. |

Vic Cable
Pitching Coach
Cable brings over 20 years pitching and 15 years coaching experience to the Express. He pitched amateur baseball for Antigo, WI while attending UW-Eau Claire before joining the Eau Claire Cavaliers.Over a 15 year career he became the team's all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, and appearances, while leading the Cavs to four CABA World Series titles.
A 1981 graduate of Cedarburg (WI) High School, Cable was a major contributor to the Blugolds baseball program that advanced to the NAIA post-season his senior year. Upon graduating in 1987, he served as an assistant coach at Eau Claire Memorial for 3 years before moving to Chippewa Falls as an assistant for 13 years.
Vic continues to teach at Chi-Hi while residing in Eau Claire with his wife Pam and two daughters, Katie and Emma. |

Craig Jilek
Assistant Coach
Jilek comes to the Express via Hudson High School, where he helped lead the Raiders to three sectional final games in the five years he was head coach. Before entering the high school ranks, the Glenwood City High School (Wis.) graduate played baseball at UW-Eau Claire. As a senior, he helped lead the Blugolds to their first NCAA Division III Regional Tournament appearance while gathering the WIAC Conference Player of the Year award and All-American Honors.
After attending UW-Eau Claire, Jilek played five seasons with the Eau Claire Cavaliers, helping them win four CABA World Series titles. Jilek was named MVP of the tournament three of those years. He still holds the Cavalier record of 36 home runs in a single season.
Craig continues to teach and live in Hudson with his wife Carrie, two sons Will and Nick, and daughter Delanie. |

Shawn Peck
Assistant Coach
Shawn Peck enters his first season on the Eau Claire Express coaching staff. Peck graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1997 where he was a three-time all-conference selection. He graduated from Viterbo University in 2003 with a degree in Broad Field Social Studies.
Peck is currently in his first season as head baseball coach at Thorp High School. He currently resides in Chippewa Falls.
Peck played college baseball under Dale Varsho, first at UW-River Falls and then at Viterbo University in La Crosse. While at Viterbo he set school records for wins in a season, lowest era in a season (1.06 which led the nation in 2000), single season complete games, and complete games in a career. Peck was an NAIA honorable mention All-American selection after the 2000 season.
After his playing career, Peck stayed with Viterbo as a pitching coach for two seasons. He helped the team advance to the Region VII finals in 2002 for the first time in school history and also had the opportunity to coach two pitchers that went on to play professionally.
Peck was the head coach of Chippewa Falls Post 77 American Legion team for one year and was an assistant coach at Mineral Point High School for three years. |
