Zimmermann Named Top Ten Prospect

Former Express pitcher and second round Washington Nationals draft pick Jordan Zimmermann continues to receive the post-season accolades. A report recently released by Baseball American lists Jordan Zimmermann as a top-ten prospect for the Nationals. Zimmermann finished his first season for the Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals with a 5-2 record and an ERA of only 2.38. His five wins was good for second on the team while his ERA was third best among pitchers who threw 30 or more innings. In 53 innings of work, Zimmermann fanned 71 batters while only issuing 18 walks. Cole Kimball had 72 strikeouts on the season in an additional 11.1 innings of work. Zimmermann stills holds Express records for best season and career ERA (1.01) and most strikeouts in a season with 92.
