InternshipsThe Eau Claire Express baseball organization is seeking current college students pursuing a career in the sporting industry for summer internships.The Express, an affiliate of the Northwoods League, offer interns the opportunity to work hands-on with the team in an exciting, fast paced environment. In addition to learning about daily operations, including customer relations, communication and ticket and apparel sales, our interns are given the opportunity to specialize in their field of study. The Express offer internships positions in marketing, stadium operations and media relations. The Express season is a fun-filled 68-game schedule that includes 34 home games at Carson Park, a league all-star game and possible home playoff games. The paid internship will begin in early May and run until the middle of August, depending on the playoff situation. Self-motivation, strong communication skills, an energetic attitude and the ability to work well under pressure are a must.
Internship Opportunities at the Eau Claire ExpressMarketing InternsMarketing interns will be in charge of coordinating game promotions with the presenting sponsor for at least eight home dates throughout the course of the season. The intern will be responsible for every aspect of the sponsor's evening, from distributing the giveaway to setting up banners and other stadium signage. Marketing interns will also assist with creating and running on-field promotions held nightly at the ball park. Other duties include bat kid coordinator, mascot and player appearance liaison and fan survey conductor. Interns will also gain experience with ticket and sponsorship sales, distribution of Express literature, apparel control and customer relations in the Express front office. Stadium Operations InternThe Stadium Operations Intern will assist the Concessions Manager with keeping, ordering, and stocking inventory for all concession foods, beverages and supplies. This intern will also be responsible for opening the park and preparing all concession areas - main concession stand, satellite areas and fan deck - for each Express home game. The Stadium Operations intern will play a large role in scheduling, delegating and overseeing the part-time staff for all baseball games held at Carson Park. This includes hiring of staff (if need be), dealing with employee concerns and maintaining databases of employee payroll and requested vacation. Media Relations InternThe Media Relations Intern will be in charge of keeping and disseminating all official statistics at Express home games. In addition to being the official scorer at the ballpark, the Media Relations intern will also gain experience in updating and running the message display center. This intern will be in charge of daily updates to the Express website, as well as write press releases for the media and stories for publication on the web throughout the season. The Media Relations intern will also be in charge of updating the "Trackside Today", a publication including featured stories, rosters and league, team and individual statistics. Knowledge of baseball rules and Stat Crew software is preferred but not necessarily required. |
